Two days, two movies. Yesterday, it was Turning Point, and today, it was Final Destination 3D.
Turning Point was good, with twists and turns that will make Sepang look like a runway. Backstabbbing of all sorts are the order of the day here, and pretty good looking actors and actresses too! My only gripe was Anthony Wong's character, Brother One's wardrobe. Lipstick, mascara and eyeliner on him drew occasional sniggles from the audience.
Watch if you want to relieve your old Ah Beng days (unless... You're still an Ah Beng now), and you want to watch a "mole with two heads". (I came up with that! Watch it and you'll know why... No spoilers here.)
On the contrary, Final Destination 3D was really... For a lack of a better word, predictable. Don't get me wrong, the 3D effects were great. Mavis and I "dodged" a piece of flying debris in a particular scene. However, the storytelling part, didn't work for me, and the gore here wasn't as good as the "minced meat" from the Saw series (with the opening scene from Saw IV as my all time favourite gore scene).
Watch if you want to see your pig's organ soup ingredients splattering all over, in gorgeous 3D.
~Manny's going... Soon.~
